Performance Evaluation of Ad Hoc On Demand Distance Vector in MANETs with varying Network Size using NS-2 Simulation
Journal Title: International Journal on Computer Science and Engineering - Year 2010, Vol 2, Issue 8
Abstract
A mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a collection of wireless mobile nodes dynamically forming a network topology without the use of any existing network infrastructure or centralized administration. Routing is the task of directing data packets from a source node to a given destination. The main method for evaluating the performance of MANETs is simulation. The On-demand protocol performs better than the table-driven protocol. This paper is subjected to Adhoc On Demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocol and evaluated its performance. We investigated the performance metrics namely Packet Delivery Fraction (PDF), Average endto- end delay, normalized routing load and throughput by varying network ize up to 50 nodes through NS-2 simulation. The performance of protocol is one of the interesting issue. Almost always the etwork protocols were simulated as a function of mobility, but not as a function of network density. The main interest of this paper is to test the ability of AODV routing protocol to react on network topology changes.

Centrality measures with a new index called E-User (Effective User) Index for determiningthe most effective user in Twitter Online Social Network
In this study, we considered the issue of determination of the most effective user in the twitter online social network. We worked on asocial network graph which have relationships (edges) between users who posteda tweet...
Direct Processor Access for Non Dedicated Server using Multi Core Processor
The objective of the paper is to design a co processor for a desktop machine which enables the machine to act as non dedicated server, such that the co processor will act as a server processor and the multi-core processo...
Estimation of worst case latency of periodic tasks in a real time distributed environment
Real-time computations require exact bounded response times. For relatively simple models of computation, it is possible to determine conditions under which it is theoretically possible to guarantee that an invocation of...
