Performance of machine learning methods for classification tasks
Journal Title: International Journal on Computer Science and Engineering - Year 2013, Vol 5, Issue 6
Abstract
In this paper, the performance of various machine learning methods on pattern classification and recognition tasks are proposed. The proposed method for evaluating performance will be based on the feature representation, feature selection and setting model parameters. The nature of the data, the methods of feature extraction and feature representation are discussed. The results of the Machine Learning algorithms on the classification task are analysed. The performance of Machine Learning methods on classifying Tamil word patterns, i.e., classification of noun and verbs are analysed. The software WEKA (data mining tool) is used for evaluating the performance. WEKA has several machine learning algorithms like Bayes, Trees, Lazy, Rule based classifiers.

Automated System for interpreting Non-verbal Communication in Video Conferencing
Gesture is a form of non-verbal, action-based communication made with a part of the body and used instead of and/or in combination with verbal communication. People frequently use gestures for more effective inter-person...
iImplementation of AMBA AHB protocol for high capacity memory management using VHDL
Microprocessor performance has improved rapidly these years. In contrast memory latencies and bandwidths have improved little. The result is that the memory access time is the bottleneck which limits the system performan...
The Brain Fingerprinting Through Digital Electroencephalography Signal Technique
A brain computer interaction has been developed to record the brain signal / electric activity through Digital Electroencephalography. The Brain Fingerprinting is a advanced computer-based technology to determine the fal...
Saturation Adaptive Quantizer Design for Synthetic Aperture Radar Data Compression
The essence of remote sensing resides in the acquisition of information about remote targets for further processing. As a high resolution microwave remote sensing instrument, the Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) has been m...
Power Saving Scheme (PSS) in Clusters of Heterogeneous ireless Sensor Networks
In this paper, we proposed a Power Saving Scheme (PSS) multi-hop sensor network using partition clusters. It avoids collision and idle listening time of sensor nodes for better overall network life time. The basic sensor...
