Performances of Some Bread Wheat Cultivars with Abroad Origin in Isparta Conditions
Journal Title: Black Sea Journal of Agriculture - Year 2018, Vol 1, Issue 4
Abstract
In recent years, abroad origin wheat varieties have been supplied by traders and have been distributed to producers without yield trial. Sometimes this has negative consequences. The research was conducted with aim to investigate yield performances of nine pieces bread wheat cultivars at Isparta climatic conditions during 2015-16 and 2016-17 years in according to the Randomized Complete-Block Design with three replicates. Differences among the grain yields and yield components of cultivars were statistically significant and the highest and the lowest value of examining yield components varied according to cultivars and years. The highest grain yields were determined in Nota cultivar (342.7 and 390.3 kg da1) and it followed Epokha Odeska and Syrena Odeska cultivars in both years. The lowest grain yield was identified in Bona Dea (206.6 kg da-1) in the first year and Avorio (253.0 kg da-1) cultivars in the second year. As a result, it was advised to Nota, Epokha Odeska and Syrena Odeska cultivars because of its higher yields in the Isparta climatic conditions.
