PERSONAL SCIENTISTS’ SITES IN THE INFOMEDIA OF THE UNIVERSITY LIBRARY

Abstract
Information about scientific communities, communication of researchers by the Internet has become an integral part of modern scientific activity; the amounts of electronic resources which contain biographic information concerning certain personalities are constantly increasing. Personal information in the Internet has a structural data form. The central element of scientists’ websites is his or her personal site or page, which receives, as a rule, citations from all Internet-resources, created by page owner. And vice verse, the scientists dispose references on the most important publications, treatments, events on his/her site. Personal site or page may become the significant source of biographical and bibliographical information; gives the possibility to introduce owner’s research activity to scientific communities, share own ideas as published or unpublished documents. It would help the scientist to solve his/her image problem created in scientific scope. Personal site is the best web-place for effective researcher’s work and information exchange, that’s why it is very important to understand the main rules of its organization, support and design requirements. Innovative technologies provide efficiency exchange of research ideas and knowledge. Scientist’s personal site simplifies forms of professional contacts, allows presenting him/herself constructively, describe the area of interests and potentials. There is wide sphere of activity for university’s libraries in mentioned direction. Such kind of activity may be realized in organization of support in depositing scientists’ publications in university’s repositories or in e-collections in practice, provide some consultation help for university scientists in creating their own profiles and filling personal sites. Besides, personal sites are the important reference service sources for library’s patrons.
