Perspectives of Blockchain Technology, its Relation to the Cloud and its Potential Role in Computer Science Education
Journal Title: Engineering, Technology & Applied Science Research - Year 2017, Vol 7, Issue 6
Abstract
Blockchain ledgers and the Cloud are a perfect match. On the one hand, there is an inherent requirement for multiple separate authentication nodes to validate every Blockchain transaction with each node requiring substantial encryption calculation capability. On the other hand, massive economies of scale can bring down the cost per transaction, and provide service continuity. Additionally, the Cloud provides a perfect incubator for proof-of-concept projects. This paper considers the future implications of Blockchain, as the concept of disintermediated trustless ledgers stimulates the imagination of computer scientists and innovators. The Cloud’s role in implementing this new paradigm is also highlighted, as a new decentralized P2P-Cloud model. Finally, this paper discusses how Blockchain may be integrated into the university level computer science and information technology curriculum.

Air Distributor Designs for Fluidized Bed Combustors: A Review
Fluidized bed combustion (FBC) has been recognized as one of the suitable technologies for converting a wide variety of biomass fuels into energy. One of the key factors affecting the successful operation of fluidized be...
An Enhanced Genetic Algorithm for the Generalized Traveling Salesman Problem
The generalized traveling salesman problem (GTSP) deals with finding the minimum-cost tour in a clustered set of cities. In this problem, the traveler is interested in finding the best path that goes through all clusters...
Interaction of Rupture Zones of Adjacent Anchor Plates in an Analogical Medium
In this paper, an experimental study which required the design and implementation of a model containing plastic granules powder to simulate a natural environment, is presented. The latter is subjected to the removal of "...
Considering FACTS in Optimal Transmission Expansion Planning
The expansion of power transmission systems is an important part of the expansion of power systems that requires enormous investment costs. Since the construction of new transmission lines is very expensive, it is necess...
Assessing Power System Stability Following Load Changes and Considering Uncertainty
An increase in load capacity during the operation of a power system usually causes voltage drop and leads to system instability, so it is necessary to monitor the effect of load changes. This article presents a method of...
