PERVAPORATIVE INVESTIGATION OF ETHYL ALCOHOL DEHYDRATION
Journal Title: Progress on Chemistry and Application of Chitin and its Derivatives - Year 2015, Vol 0, Issue
Abstract
Pervaporative separation properties of crosslinked chitosan and alginate membrane on ethanol-water mixture at room temperature was studied. The influence of crosslinking agents on the separation properties were discussed. Selected crosslinking agents were affected differently on used polymer matrices. The better separation properties were obtained for membranes crosslinked by phosphoric (V) acid. The highest pervaporation separation index (309.6 kg/m2·h) and separation factor (52.6) were obtained for phosphoric (V) acid crosslinked alginate membranes, however, the greatest total flux (12.4 kg/m2·h) obtained for phosphoric acid crosslinked chitosan membranes.

CHARACTERISATION OF CHITOSAN/HYALURONIC ACID BLEND FILMS MODIFIED BY COLLAGEN
In the present study, thin films based on the blends of chitosan (Ch) and hyaluronic acid (HA) with and without collagen (Coll) were characterised using tensile tests, attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infra...
THE EFFECT OF SELECTED POLYMERS ON THE PROPERTIES OF THERMOSENSITIVE HYDROPHILIC GELS CONTAINING LACTIC ACID COMPLEXED WITH CHITOSAN
Bacterial vaginitis affects women of all age groups. Numerous recurrences of the condition are widely discussed by clinicians. Traditional therapeutic schemes recommended by world treatment centres and health organizatio...
PHYSICOCHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF CHITIN-POLYESTER SYSTEMS IN DEPENDENCE ON THEIR COMPOSITION
In order to improve the properties of their individual components, the compositions of dibutyrylchitin (DBC) and aliphatic polyesters (PCLG) were prepared and examined. The studied systems are homogeneous in a wide range...
MISCIBILITY AND INTERACTIONS IN CHITOSAN AND POLYACRYLAMIDE MIXTURES
In the present work, the results of Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) studies of films of chitosan acetate (ChA), polyacrylamide (PAM), and their mixtures are presented. The morphology o...
CHITOSAN/POLY(VINYL ALCOHOL) HYDROGELS AS CONTROLLED DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEMS
In order to achieve hydrogel and drug release profiles, a comprehensive knowledge of the types, properties and syntheses of hydrogel polymer networks are needed. For this reason, a natural biopolymer hydrogel based on ch...
