Phase composition of metallurgical zinc and lead slags
Journal Title: Civil and Environmental Engineering Reports - Year 2013, Vol 1, Issue 11
Abstract
Slags formed in the “Miasteczko Śląskie” Zinc Smelting Plant process contain substantial amounts of heavy metals such as Pb, Zn, Cd, Cu. In hypergenic environment this elements may occur in stable or unstable phase. Environmental conditions and the forms of occurrence of elements decide about metals stability and mobility. On the basis of laboratory, microscopic and modeling studies it was found that the main phase present in slags from the current production of the shaft furnace is fayalite, which is unstable in EhpH wide range in water and soil environment of the surroundings of HC “Miasteczko Śląskie”.

Prediction of deflection from flatness and a vertical position with the use of neural networks
The paper presents an attempt to apply unidirectional multilayer neural networks in the prediction of the deflections from flatness and from a vertical position of building walls, on an example of periodic measurements i...
CHEMICAL STABILITY OF WATER IN THE WATER SUPPLY NETWORK - PRELIMINARY RESEARCH
The article presents the results of research on changes in selected water parameters during distribution in the water supply network of the city of 22 thousand inhabitants. Water parameters were controlled at 8 points in...
Effect of cyclic freezing on microstructure parameters of monoionic bentonites
In this study the effects of cyclic freezing on microstructure of monomineral forms of bentonite were investigated. Samples of the non-frozen soil and the soil frozen were tested using scanning electron microscope SEM. T...

The research on the effectiveness of removing heavy metals from water solutions by bacteria was carried out at the laboratory of the Institute of Environmental Engineering of the University of Zielona Góra in 2007-2008....
BIODETERIORATION DUE TO IMPROPER EXPLOITATION OF EXTERNAL FACADES
Unaesthetic stains and deposits often form on external facades (especially those facing the north) in places where barriers were installed on them. Such places include, for example: fragments of facades in which external...
