Phytophagous Insects Damaging Woody Greenery, Growing in the Urban Environment

Abstract

Investigation on woody urban greenery was carried on. The significant moth pests on woody greenery of urban areas are discussed. During the investigation period most observable pests were: Cameraria ohridella on horse-chestnut leaves, Phyllonorycter issikii on lime trees leaves, P. robiniella on robinia, Celypha siderana on Spiraea leaves and Gracillaria syringella on lilacs and wild privet. It is important that the proper assortments of plants would be chosen for the city greenery. These plants must be non attractive to the insects pests.
