Abstract
A copy of the letter written on 25th June 1944, which is part of the uncatalogued fragment of the archives of the University Library in Lviv, shows how much the staff board of that institution were concerned about the state of the Polish collections as well as about the training of future librarians. This letter was probably written by Eustachy Gaberle (1891–1947), the after-war deputy director of the Jagiellonian Library, who before the war taught library science at the John Casimir University in Lviv.
