Plain Lignocaine versus Lignocaine-Tramadol for Intravenous Regional Anaesthesia
Journal Title: Indian Journal of Anesthesia and Analgesia - Year 2017, Vol 4, Issue 2
Abstract
Background: This study was conducted to compare efficiency of plain lidocaine with combination of adjuvant tramadol with lidocaine in intravenous regional anesthesia in terms of onset and duration of sensory and motar blockade. Methods: Sixty patients were divided in to 2 groups; the first group received 0.5% of 40 ml of plain lidocaine and the second group received 0.5% of lidocaine with tramadol 100 mg 40 ml. Preoperative and intraoperative hemodynamic parameters were monitored and recorded at 1,5,10,20,30,40 minutes after anesthesia. Results: The onset time of sensorial block was shorter and duration of sensorial block was longer in group 2 than group 1. The onset of motor blockade and duration of motor blockade was longer in group 2 than group 1. There was no comparatively significant differences in hemodynamic vital parameters in both groups. Conclusions: IVRA with addition of adjuvant tramadol ligocaine is effective and safer than the 0.5% ligocaine.

Effect of Dexmedetomidine on Induction and Hemodynamic Response to Laryngoscopy and Intubation with Propofol and Sevoflurane: A Randomized Clinical Trial
Background: Induction of anaesthesia, laryngoscopy and intubation are critical events and hemodynamic stability is an important factor during this period. This study aims to evaluate the effect of dexmedetomidine on indu...
Comparison of Dexmedetomidine Versus Midazolam in Providing Sedation for Endoscopy
Background: To minimize patient discomfort, anxiety and pain and to improve patient cooperation throughout the procedure and ease the performance of the procedure by the endoscopists conscious sedation is required. The m...
Comparative Study of Clinical Effects of Intrathecal Hyperbaric Bupivacaine with Fentanyl versus Hyperbaric Bupivacaine in Patients with Lower Limb Surgeries
Objective: In a prospective study, clinical effects of intrathecal 0.5% hyperbaric bupivacaine 15 mg with fentanyl 25µg versus 0.5% hyperbaric bupivacaine 15 mg were compared in total 60 patients of ASA grade I and II un...
Comparative Study of Intrathecal Bupivacaine with Buprenorphine and Bupivacaine with Tramadol
Aim: The aim of the study is to compare the following factors in two groups i.e., Hyperbaric bupivacaine 0.5% and Buprenorphine 60mcg (GROUP B) and Hyperbaric bupivacaine 0.5% and Tramadol 25mg (GROUP T). Patients and Me...
Comparison between Incidence of Emergence Agitation in Pre-school Age Group with that of Older Children undergoing Sevoflurane Anaesthesia
Background: Emergence agitation (EA) is a known fact after general anaesthesia which is observed more in children and that too after sevoflurane anaesthesia. Dexmedetomidine and propofol are both known to reduce EA when...
