This article presents formal and legal requirements of revitalisation activities in Poland. Included are subjects such as definition and goal of revitalisation, designating degraded area and revitalisation area, stakeholders of the process and the Communal Revitalisation Programme – a strategic document of Polish local governments. The article refers to strategic documents regarding revitalisation processes in five Polish cities: Warsaw, Łódź, Gdynia, Olsztyn and Białystok.
