Abstract
The research is devoted to the political life of the Middle Urals. The author identifies several political processes taking place in the Sverdlovsk region under the Governor E. Kuivashev. The paper reveals the municipal policy of Sverdlovsk authorities. The author presents the detailed description of the reaction of municipal authorities in the reform of the local self-governing.
