POLITYKA MIGRACYJNA WOBEC WYZWAŃ DEMOGRAFICZNYCH. TRENDY EUROPEJSKIE A POLSKA

Abstract
The article is devoted to the presentation of major problems that at the beginning of the XXI century Europe must take (mainly the European Union (EU)). The most important of them are: demographic transformation, the ageing of population, the risk of “emptying” of labor markets and depopulation. The response to those problems can be the migration, integration, asylum and assimilation policies, differently implemented by the EU Member States. The rank of the problem of the searching for consensus between the coherent integration policy and national autonomy of various Member States increased because of a wave refugees from Asia and Africa and the modern world fear of terrorism. For Poland a war in Ukraine and influx of the population from the East became an additional challenge. To indicate the main issues related with these problems, contemporary demographic trends, migration trends, principles and strategies of migration policies in selected European countries have been described in this article.
