Abstract
Some recent conference topics have been an answer to the long-term question of “Who are we?”, which also was the motto of 2014 Congress of Association Of General Practice/Family Medicine Of South-East Europe: the unappealing “management of the geriatric patient” for the most; the tiring “somatoform disorders” for both patients and doctors; the sneakily increasing “chronic obstructive pulmonary disease” of the modern age; and the popular and never-ending “diabetes and its complications”. Even if unpopular or unnoticeable, there is a perceived reality behind all those topics. Family Physicians take up an important position in protecting their patients from diseases before any inevitable or impossible outcomes occur, and in improving their health related quality of life.
