PORTRAITS OF FOLK ARTISTS IN ANATOLIY KALYTKO`S CREATIVE WORK

Abstract
Anatoliy Kalytko is one of the leading artists in Hutsulschyna, a representative of academic school of painting, a teacher of Kosiv Institute of Applied and Decorative Art of Lviv National Academy of Arts, Honoured Artist of Ukraine, a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. Anatoliy Kalytko’s paintings range from landscape to still life and portraiture. The technique of oil painting is his favourite. The portraits of folk masters are among the most significant. One of the best is the portrait of Taras Shevchenko National Prize laureate, Ukrainian master of art textile Hanna Vasylaschuk. Every time the artist creates a canvas he tries to convey to the observers the emotions and feelings which he experienced while watching the surroundings and painting it.
