POSSIBILITIES OF REDUCTION OF AMMONIA EMISSIONS FROM MANURE MANAGEMENT

Abstract

The aim of this study was to present the possibilities of reduction in ammonia emissions resulting from low-emission agricultural practices. Estimations conducted for farms using chosen techniques for manure application in 2016 showed reduction in ammonia emissions ranging from 2.4 to 3.0% in relation to initial emission estimates. Based on the projections for reduction of NH3 emissions prepared for all the farms using both manure fertilisation and recommended low-emission practices, it can be stated that the estimated ammonia emissions fall within the range of 192.6-206.8 Gg NH3, which constitutes 4 to 10.6% of reduction.
