Posterior tibial spine avulsion fractures treated by open reduction and internal fixation through Burks and Schaffer approach – An outcome analysis
Journal Title: International Journal of Orthopaedics Sciences - Year 2017, Vol 3, Issue 3
Abstract
The Posterior Cruciate ligament (PCL) is the stronger of the two cruciate ligaments of the knee. It is the primary constraint to the posterior tibial translation at 90º of knee flexion. PCL avulsion injuries are not uncommon in our country. We corrected such injuries with open reduction and internal fixation using Burks and Schaffe approach in 10 patients, followed up the patients adequately and reported their functional outcome in this study

Craniovertebral junction tuberculosis with Subluxation
Tuberculosis of the Craniovertebral junction is a rare and potentially dangerous condition. Neurological complications are more serious and common than with that of other vertebrae. Hence the need for early recognition a...
A study on functional and radiological outcome after corrective osteotomy and volar locked plate fixation for extra-articular malunion of distal radius
Background: Malunion is the most common complication following distal radius fractures occurring approximately 23% of non-surgically treated injuries and approximately 11% of operatively treated fractures. Malunion leads...
Short same segment fixation of thoracolumbar fractures
Introduction: Thoracolumbar fractures are the most common injuries being treated by spine surgeons. Conventionally these fracture were treated with 2 levels above and 2 levels below the fracture site. The goal of interna...
Management of displaced supracondylar fracture of humerus in children by closed reduction and k wire fixation
Supracondylar fracture of humerus is a common pediatric elbow injury contributing 60-70% of all elbow injuries. The management of displaced supracondylar fracture of the humerus is one of the most difficult of the many f...
Management of diaphyseal fractures of both bones of forearm by internal fixation using locking compression plate and screws
Background and objective: The fractures of both bones forearm are one of the commonest fractures found and can be treated by different methods. The accepted management for fractures of both bones forearm is open reductio...
