Journal Title: Journal of Evidence Based Medicine and Healthcare - Year 2015, Vol 2, Issue 33
Abstract
To study long term results of LUCL Reconstruction and Capsular Repair in 10 patients with Posterolateral Rotatory Instability Elbow. METHODS: 10 patients, 6 females and 4 male in the age group of 14 to 36 years with traumatic Elbow Subluxations and pain of 8- 17 months duration; were treated with Elbow Arthroscopy and LUCL Reconstruction with Capsular repair. All the patients were followed for 4 years and assessed on Mayo Scale. RESULTS: As per mayo scale 8 had excellent results in terms of pain, range of movement, function and stability. 1 good and1 fair results. There was no difference in the results as per age, sex or sidedness. CONCLUSION: Posterolateral rotatory instability is a cascade of elbow Instability. 1 If it is diagnosed early and treated with LUCL Reconstruction and Capsular Repair, it gives excellent functional outcome and stability. 5 CLINICAL RELEVANCE: PLRI is not an uncommon condition. 1 Chair test and Pivot shift test are important diagnostic tests in addition to MRI. 2,3,4 Capsular plication or Repair is extremely critical for the excellent outcome after LUCL Reconstruction. 1,5
