Abstract
Omurgan›n metal aparatlar fiksasyonu, spinal füzyon ve korreksiyonun önemli bir bileßenidir. Günümüzde kulland›¤›m›z spinal fiksasyon yöntemleri, geçti¤imiz yüzy›la ait onlarca bulu- ßun neticesinde gelißmiß ve son hallerini alm›ß- lard›r. Asl›nda omurgan›n faset vidas› ile fiksasyonu, bu tarz uygulamalar›n en eskilerinden birisidir ve 1940 y›l›nda King taraf›ndan tan›mlanm›ßt›r. Omurgada faset fiksasyonunun di¤erlerinden ayr›ld›¤› önemli bir konu hala güncelli¤ini korumas› ve popülaritesinin son on y›lda artmas› hatta baz› güncel yay›nlarda transpediküler vidaya bir alternatif olarak gösterilmesidir. Bu yaz›n›n amac› eski ve yeni literatür bilgileri ›ß›¤›nda faset fiksasyonunun gelißimini ve baßl›ca avantajlar›n› aktarmakt›r.
