POSTMODERN THEORIZATION OF SOCIAL REALITY

Abstract
The article analyses postmodern connotations of concepts «social reality», «sociality», «subject», «subjectivity», studies the problem of social ontology. The conclusion is made that sociality is originated not by society, but by the interacting subjects in the process of existential communication or interpretation of institutional communication. The establishment and development of postindustrial society led to pivotal transformations of traditional social basis, forms and ways of person’s social life and mechanisms of his/her socialization. These radical changes have dual effects for sociality. On the one hand, the degree of individualization growth in the process of civilisational development leads to pathogenic for sociality propagation of the forms of individualism whose aggressively deviant and openly egocentric forms, while growing and getting legitimate against the background of deformation and decline of traditional forms of social existence which are family, community, ethnos, nation, etc, threatens with person’s desocialization. On the other hand, growing institutionalization of sociality, complication of social practices and their dynamic updating, arising and spread of new means and forms of communication as well as manipulation by human conscience make a threat of dehumanization of sociality: alienation of objective forms of a man’s social life and degradation of his/her subjectivity, increasing the power of outer social forces over him – economic, political, cultural, informative. In this situation the development of theoretical discourse of social is able to become a peculiar project of constructing sociality, after all, discursive formations themselves, thanks to their symbolic potential, to a certain extent, are becoming a reality. Against the background of diagnosis «death of the subject» which is now widely spread for social and humanitarian cognition on the whole, awareness of theoretical insolvency and practical danger of «desubjecivity» of sociality intensifies the search for theoretic – methodological instruments that are able to give sociality its anthropological measurement back. Basic concepts in this theoretical context are «social reality» and «subjectivity». The first one allows anthropological measurement reconstructing in ontology of sociality and overcoming alienation, stressing the impossibility of continuous objectification, and the second one allows articulating that measurement of a man, which is substantially making him/her a social subject, is able to protect him/her from social order domination.
