Potrzeba nadaje sens działaniu czyli o gromadzeniu danych statystycznych w Bibliotece Głównej Gdańskiego Uniwersytetu Medycznego słów kilka

Abstract
It is necessary to collect and analyze library statistics in order to effectively manage the library and promote its services. Every year all libraries are required to fill Central Statistical Office of Poland declarations and to prepare different types of reports, among others things periodic reports in accordance with instructions of university superiors. Collected statistical data have the big influence on the decisions made by managers at various levels, i.e. at the level of heads of departments, library director or the university authorities.The aim of this paper is to present and discuss the komputer program, made and implemented in 2010 at the Main Library of the Medical University of Gdańsk, for collecting the statistical data. We have also tried to answer how the Statistical panel is used in the process of library management. Do efektywnego zarządzania biblioteką oraz skutecznej promocji świadczonych usług niezbędne jest gromadzenie i analizowanie statystyk bibliotecznych. Wszystkie biblioteki są zobowiązane do corocznego wypełniania arkuszy GUS, sporządzania okresowych sprawozdań według zaleceń oraz zarządzeń swoich zwierzchników i przygotowywania różnego typu zestawień. Gromadzone dane statystyczne są jednym z elementów oceny przy podejmowaniu decyzji przez zarządzających różnego szczebla, tj. na poziomie kierowników oddziałów, dyrektora biblioteki czy też władz uczelni. Celem referatu jest przedstawienie i omówienie autorskiego programu do gromadzenia danych statystycznych, powstałego i wdrożonego w 2010 roku w Bibliotece Głównej Gdańskiego Uniwersytetu Medycznego. Podjęto również próbę oceny, w jakim stopniu Panel statystyczny jest wykorzystywany w procesie zarządzania biblioteką.
