Simple regression analysis was used to test the hypothesis at 0.05 alpha level. The hypothesis was rejected. Based on the finding it was recommended, among others that in order to reduce the pervading high level of poverty in Nigeria, a policy of expansion and inclusion of marginalized individuals such as women into the labour force and decisionmaking process should be put in place.
