Power Management of a Stand-Alone Hybrid (Wind/Solar/Battery) Energy System: An Experimental Investigation
Journal Title: International Journal of Advanced Computer Science & Applications - Year 2018, Vol 9, Issue 6
Abstract
In this manuscript, a hybrid wind/solar/battery energy system is proposed for a stand-alone applications. Wind-solar energy sources are used as power generation source in the proposed hybrid energy system (HES), whereas battery is used as energy storing system in order to manage the power flow among various power generation sources and energy storing system. Power management control strategy is also presented for a suggested hybrid system. Through the real load demand and practical weather data (proposed area is Jamshoro, Sindh Pakistan), the system performance is verified under different situations. It is observed that the hybrid system produces maximum power in summer season as compared to other seasons throughout the year. Moreover, the power generated from wind and solar energy contributes 77.88% and 22.12%, respectively. However, it is clearly observed that the HES is cost effective and can be used in remotely rural areas which are isolated from power grid. In future work, the HES can be integrated with the power grid in order to meet the load demand during shortage of power.

Greedy Algorithms to Optimize a Sentence Set Near-Uniformly Distributed on Syllable Units and Punctuation Marks
An optimum sentence set that near-uniformly dis-tributed on syllable units and punctuation marks is important to develop a syllable-based automatic speech recognition (ASR). It is usually extracted from a mother set of m...
Optimization and Simulation Approach for Empty Containers Handling
Container handling problems at the container terminals are NP-hard problems. In this paper, we propose a new handling operation’s design and simulation of empty containers, taking into account the interrelated activities...
Sectorization of Full Kekre’s Wavelet Transform for Feature extraction of Color Images
An innovative idea of sectorization of Full Kekre’s Wavelet transformed (KWT)[1] images for extracting the features has been proposed. The paper discusses two planes i.e. Forward plane (Even plane) and backward plane (Od...
A Privacy-Preserving Roaming Authentication Scheme for Ubiquitous Networks
A privacy-preserving roaming authentication scheme (PPRAS) for ubiquitous networks is proposed, in which a remote mobile user can obtain the service offered by a foreign agent after being authenticated. In order to prote...
Ladder Networks: Learning under Massive Label Deficit
Advancement in deep unsupervised learning are finally bringing machine learning close to natural learning, which happens with as few as one labeled instance. Ladder Networks are the newest deep learning architecture that...
