Power supply unit for the excitation of a synchronous motor with a reactive power regulator
Journal Title: Mining – Informatics, Automation and Electrical Engineering - Year 2015, Vol 521, Issue 1
Abstract
The article features the development of a complete power supply unit for the excitation of a synchronous motor with a non-contact excitation circuit. The implemented algorithms for start-up control allow to start the motor in optimal time according to the set parameters. The embedded microprocessor reactive power regulator enables to use the motor as an execution element of the superior compensation system. The communication system enables multiple co-operation possibilities with external devices.

Analysis of effects of coal enrichment in jigs at changing grain composition of the feed
One of the basic coal preparation processes is coal preparation in water pulsating jigs. The efficiency of coal preparation depends on the washability of the raw coal feed and the shape of partition curves which, in turn...
Operation analysis of leakage protection including auxiliary current source operating as series ohmmeter systems
This paper outlines issues related to the features of the leakage protections, especially the resistance of central leakage protections provided with the auxiliary current source to network interferences. It reveals susc...
Planning experiment for laboratory tests on rock abrasivity
The physical and mechanical properties of rocks (i.e., compressive strength, tensile strength, workability, or compactness) are often taken into account during the selection of a mining method and type of mining machine...
Principles of IT security in light of new regulations
In many places, the new regulations on the detailed requirements of underground mining operations introduced by the Minister of Energy on November 23, 2016, obligate the head of a coal mine to specify the detailed rules...
Electromagnetic compatibility of field controllers with intrinsically safe measurement circuits
The article features the EMC(electromagnetic compatibility) requirements concerning resistance of power protection devices with intrinsically safe circuits. The most important standards and recommendations were presented...
