Abstract
Tomasz Nowak BEFORE THE RISE IN THE COUNTY PIOTRKOW. RELATION OF ATTEMPT TO TAKE CONTROL OF RADOMSKO BY JANUARY’S INSURGENTS In the Jagiellonian Library is kept anonymous manuscript which is describing the preparation for the outbreak of the January Uprising in Piotrkow. Due to the overwhelming numbers of Russian soldiers, the insurgents who were mostly gymnasium students decided to change their plans and attack Radomsko. Unfortunately conquer of this City by surprise failed. For the reason that Russians prepared a trap for the insurgents and after short battle, force of insurgents were dispersed, because of that, many members were taken prisoner, some of them were sentenced to death. Others were convicted and sent into Russia. The document despite the fact that in some parts is unclear must be regarded as an important source of knowledge, because were written by the participant of this event.
