ПРАЦЕТЕРАПІЯ ЯК ОДИН З МЕТОДІВ ПСИХОТЕРАПЕВТИЧНОЇ ДОПОМОГИ НА ПОДІЛЛІ В КІНЦІ ХІХ – ПОЧАТКУ ХХ СТОЛІТТЯ

Abstract
The articledescribes the activities of the employees of O.I.Yushchenko psychiatric hospital in Vinnytsa, who helped improve the organizational structureof the psychiatric andpsychological assistance, promoted labor psychotherapy, andspread psychological literacyamong the people of Podillya, taking into consideration thebasic postulatesof naturalsciences in the period in question. The system of relationsestablished between the mentally handicapped and the people around them which consisted in the acceptance of the mentally ill as individuals and assistancetotheir development,elaboratingthesystemoffacilities tomaintain andprovidefor the psychical healthofthe individualat the appropriate level, has been investigated. The authordeterminesthe preconditions for the formation and developmentofpsychological scienceintheperiod under review noted for supervision, study, andacquisitionofnatural scientificexperience. The accumulated archival materials and statistical data have been further examined, thus helpingtoclassifypsychicaldiseases and improvetheorganizationalstructureofthe psychological and psychiatric assistance,and extend the scope of applicationoflabor psychotherapy throughout the area takingintoaccountthebasicpostulatesofthe naturalsciences. The articleanalysesthe natural scientific direction of the first programs and research charts of the psyche ofthe mentallyhandicappedinthe hospital’s historyanddescribes attempts todifferentiate between mental affection andpsychical healthofthe population. An insight is given into thetasksofconsultationsanddiagnosticworkwiththe mentallyhandicappedintheperiod under review, including the psychicalhealthissue related to the protection of the Podillya populationin the late 19th andearly 20th centuries.
