Practical implications regarding the usage of topical combined preparations containing corticosteroid in treatment of dermatoses involved by bacterial and/or fungal infection - an experts' opinion
Journal Title: Dermatologia Kliniczna - Year 2009, Vol 11, Issue 2
Abstract
Common coexistence of immunological and infectious processes occurring in dermatological pathologies has contributed to the development of combined preparations composed not only of immunosuppressive (antiinflammatory) agent, but of antibacterial and/or antifingal one. There is a wide variety of registered indications for this group of drugs - they are most commonly used for the treatment of dermatoses involved by secondary bacterial and/or fungal infection with strong inflammatory basis. This group of agents seems to be particularly useful for primary health service physicians' practice, but before choosing a proper agent one should take into consideration the risk-benefit ratio
