Zaczynając badanie prawa cywilnego, trzeba przede wszystkim dowiedzieć się, jakie relacje ma ta branżaz takimi kategoriami, jak «prawo prywatne»i «prawo publiczne». Tradycyjnie określano prawo pry- watne za pomocą dychotomii «prawo prywatne – pra- wo publiczne».
