Abstract

Abstract The use of technology in finance is a rising trend. Although this may seem like an advantage, it also brings with it a great responsibility, because if financial institutions fall behind in technology, it will pose a risk for the institution and its customers. For this reason, the integration of new methods and techniques in line with the current technological innovations and developments of our age into financial processes and the subsequent smooth functioning of the processes must be guaranteed. At this point, it is believed that artificial intelligence technologies make significant contributions. Artificial intelligence enables the performance of many tasks such as decision making, automatic inference, prediction/prediction, speech/object recognition, which can be performed almost close to human performance in corporate processes. In this study, it is aimed to examine the applications of machine learning, a subfield of artificial intelligence, in the field of finance and the relevant recent studies in the literature. In this context, process automation, application of machine learning models in financial sector, financial risk management issues were examined. Thus, the main motivation of the study was to provide a different perspective to researchers especially interested in finance and machine learning and to contribute to the progress in this field.
