PREREQUISITES FOR ACQUIRING THE STATUS OF UNEMPLOYED PERSON BY A FOREIGNER UNDER THE ACT OF 20 APRIL 2004 ON THE PROMOTION OF EMPLOYMENT AND LABOUR MARKET INSTITUTIONS

Abstract
The main subject of the present paper concerns the prerequisites for acquiring the status of unemployed person by a foreigner under the Act on the promotion of employment and labour market institutions. The aim of the article is to describe the current administrative- legal regulations as well as rules of access of foreigners to unemployment benefits in Poland - the issue increasingly significant in public debate. Considerations included were mainly based on the research method of the Polish legal framework as of 30th June 2015. The study is an attempt to bring closer a complex issue - rights and obligations of unemployed foreigners in Poland.<br/><br/>
