Abstract
The author stresses that the ability to analyze the specific literary text builds up during high school training, which should be based on a fundamental theoretical basis in understanding the artistic and aesthetic essence of literature as an art of speech. Literary education will ensure the readiness of the future teacher to form in students, through the content and artistic images of literary works, not only the reader culture, but also social, moral, ethical and aesthetic values.
