Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of principles of counterintelligence cognition, which play the role of its leading ideas, foundations, and guidelines. It is determined that the system of principles of counterintelligence knowledge combines both the fundamental principles of scientific knowledge and the general and special principles of counterintelligence activities. The analysis of this system of principles, which is of great importance for the formation of conceptual foundations of counterintelligence knowledge as a complex continuous process of formation of true knowledge about objects of interest in counterintelligence, is carried out. It is stressed that the development of the theory of counterintelligence activity depends on the correct definition of the concept, essence, and content of principles of counterintelligence knowledge. Developed by science and practice, the principles of counterintelligence knowledge form a complete representation of authorized entities in relation to its essence, purpose, tasks, forms, and methods, as well as reflect the general laws of development. It is emphasized that the research of principles of counterintelligence knowledge should take place taking into account the provisions of modern epistemology, as well as the principles of counterintelligence activities, which directly influence the specificity of knowledge of its objects. As a result, the epistemological principles of objectivity, reflection, concreteness, comprehensiveness, reasonableness, dialectics, practice, and historicism are analysed, as well as the principles of legality, continuity, conspiracy, the combination of overt and covert forms and methods of activity, etc., fixed by the counterintelligence law. Typical examples that reveal the essence of these principles, their significance and direction are presented. It is proved that guiding by the dialectical and special principles of counterintelligence knowledge, it is possible to fully comprehend facts, events, phenomena, and processes related to illegal activity in the field of state security. Compliance with these principles is a critical condition for obtaining new, reliable knowledge, which is lacking today to improve counterintelligence practices. The formulated principles emphasize the independent and specific nature of counterintelligence knowledge, reflect its place and role in the counterintelligence process, and make it possible to understand features and determine the relationship with other types of cognitive activity.
