PRINCIPLES OF MULTIMEDIA LEARNING

Abstract
In the era of information society where computer literacy is seen as a part of general literacy, information technologies have been given the function of education and as such they have brought some new ways of learning. By modernizing the teaching methods supported by appropriate hardware and software and by using multimedia teaching resources, the main directions of modern education development are defined. In the time of intensive information society development, where consumers of educational content are enabled to have access through the broadband Internet by using modern information and communication technologies, there is a need to design modern educational environments, which gives the Internet a greater role in the field of education. The preparation of multimedia projects is a very complex process based on the work of lecturers, graphic designers, programmers, audio and video editors, and projects are created in such a way that their use is easy, interesting, and efficient. Ease of use should be based on basic IT knowledge in order to provide a wider circle of users of multimedia educational content. Creating multimedia educational content must respect the basic principles of multimedia learning presented in this paper. If this is not implemented, the multimedia content can have a negative effect and the consumption can be tiring and counterproductive.
