PRIOR-PRODUCTION TESTS OF 40 MM HANDHELD REPEATING GRENADE LAUNCHER

Abstract
The scope and results of tests for a pilot lot of handheld repeating grenade launchers (in Polish – Ręczny Granatnik Powtarzalny) RGP-40 which were performed by the Testing Division of the Mechanical Works S.A. in Tarnów and testing laboratories of the Military Institute of Armament Technology (Dynamic Testing Centre in Stalowa Wola) and the Military Institute of Chemistry and Radiometry are presented in the paper. The climatic and mechanical environmental tests performed for the tested sample of grenade launchers are characterised and the results of wearing tests received at testing a selected item of the weapon are presented both with the results obtained at firing with the Polish ammunition of increased pressure and muzzle velocity, that was used as the replacement of medium velocity (MV) ammunition missing in the country market.<br/><br/>
