Probabilistic norms and statistical convergence of random variables
Journal Title: Surveys in Mathematics and its Applications - Year 2009, Vol 4, Issue 0
Abstract
The paper extends certain stochastic convergence of sequences of <B>Rk</B> -valued random variables (namely, the convergence in probability, in Lp and almost surely) to the context of E-valued random variables.

Optimal Alternative to the Akima's Method of Smooth Interpolation Applied in Diabetology
It is presented a new method of cubic piecewise smooth interpolation applied to experimental data obtained by glycemic profile for diabetics. This method is applied to create a soft useful in clinical diabetology. The me...
Higher *-derivations between unital C*-algebras
Let A, B be two unital C*-algebras. We prove that every sequence of mappings from A into B, H = {h0,h1, ..., hm, ...}, which sat...
Special Features In Turbulent Mixing. Comparison between Periodic and Non Periodic Case
After hundreds of years of stability study, the problems of flow kinematics are far from complete solving. A modern theory appears in this field: the mixing theory. Its mathematical methods and techniques developed the s...
Ridge regression estimator: combining unbiased and ordinary ridge regression methods of estimation
Statistical literature has several methods for coping with multicollinearity. This paper introduces a new shrinkage estimator, called modified unbiased ridge (MUR). This estimator is obtained from unbiased ridge regressi...
