ПРОБЛЕМА СТАТУСУ НАПІВСИМЕТРИЧНИХ ЗАЙМЕННИКОВО-СПІВВІДНОСНИХ РЕЧЕНЬ

Abstract
Introduction. Based on the structural symmetry criterion the paper focuses on the status of compound constructions which have half-symmetric pronouns in correlated clauses. In contemporary Ukrainian linguistics there are two dominant perspectives on the problem: 1) the semantics of compound constructions, which influences the structure of half-symmetric pronouns correlated clauses; 2) type of connection between the correlate and the relate. Even this traditional approach does not have a single interpretation, in particular there are differences in terminology and the formation of a clear criterion for defining certain subtypes. Purpose. The paper aims to clarify the understanding the concept of half-symmetrical pronouns correlated sentences, singled out on semantic criterion. Results. The results of this paper specify the use of linguistic terms and clarify the theory of pronoun-compound sentences structural organization. In addition to the generally accepted principle of semantic identity, there is a sentence with complete and incomplete semantic opposition between the pronominal word and the relate word. In this paper the term “half-symmetric sentences” introduces. These structures has the transitional status between symmetric and asymmetric sentences, because they demonstrates the correlation of general semantic (locality, temporality). The correlative block units have different type of meaning in this sentences. Conclusion. According to this paper, it is appropriate to delimit the broad and the narrow interpretations of the concept of “syntactic asymmetry”. It is necessary to classify all pronoun-compound sentences into three groups: symmetric, asymmetric and halfsymmetric structures. Each of these types requires a separate complex study.
