PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT PROCESS APPLIED OF FLEXIBLE METALLIC MEMBRANE COUPLING DESIGN
Journal Title: Journal of Industrial Design and Engineering Graphics - Year 2014, Vol 9, Issue 1
Abstract
The paper develops a problem of great interest in R&D activity, very widely applied in practice: the use of flexible metallic couplings having elastic deformations to combine an adequate level of torque transmission with a reasonable axial and angular misalignment capability. The paper illustrates directions of conceptual and embodiment design of these couplings, including their function structure, kinematic and constructive schemes, and solid modeling for real working simulation using FEA. Several examples based on constructive structures are offered. The paper develops aspects concerning the using of Solid Works to create 3D scale models for the evaluation of specific features of the coupling structure. The virtual scalemodel is created by computer to provide the validation of the features and the performance of the structure. It is revealed that the study of flexible couplings based on elastic deformations is of great theoretical and practical importance today.
