Abstract
The review of the most popular modern software systems of simulation modeling is considered in terms of their capabilities in discrete event simulation modeling and their applicability in the field of computer systems and data transmission networks. The main currently existing software tools for modeling systems with discrete dynamic processes occurring in them have been examined: Arena, GPSS World, AnyLogic, ns2 and eNSP.
