PROMOTION OF SELF-HELP GROUPS OF PEOPLE WITH MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS IN UKRAINE: THE RESULTS OF EXPERT EVALUATION

Abstract
The article discusses the actual problem of social support of people with mental health problems in selfhelp group activities as in an additional resource of social support. The issue was investigated by expert assessment, author scale and SWOT- method of analysis as the main research tools. The scale used containing 15 questions to assess the potential and forecasting establishment of self-help groups as a means of providing social support for people with the mental health problems in terms of community. This method is considered a tool of strategic analysis and planning, which are used for assessing phenomena, phenomena, factors that affect a particular project / organization. As part of this analysis, all parameters are divided into 4 categories: strong / positive side, weak / negative aspects, potential threats, and the potential to be considered by a matrix. It allows us to determine the features and capabilities of the organization / phenomenon / phenomena and identification of external and internal factors that positively influence the achievement of objectives (possibility implementation) or rather hinder its achievement. However, the study criteria and efficiency indicators of self-help groups as a form of rehabilitation, which is a source of social support for people with mental health problems in terms of community self-governing is complicated by the specifics of such groups. Self-help groups may become a powerful alternative source of social support for people with mental health problems, which complement the support system of professionals and family support. But it is important, that such groups should be initiated notin the system of medical care, but in the community, the place of their residence.
