In group II (overt DIC) all required ICU care and mortality was 59.38%. Patients in group IB (prophylactic blood component therapy) had shorter duration of hospital stay as compared to group IA and II. 40.18% in group II (overt DIC), 33.92% in group IA and 6.92 % in group IB patients had hospital stay for more than 10 days.
