Proposal for the Selection of Materials for Footwear to Improve Thermal Insulation Properties Based on Laboratory Research
Journal Title: Fibres and Textiles in Eastern Europe - Year 2018, Vol 26, Issue 5
Abstract
The aim of this study was the analysis of the thermal resistance of upper textile materials combined with leather or textile linings. Following a comparative analysis of the combinations of materials tested, the best insulators werre recommended. Footwear material packages were created on the basis of the analysis of hygienic properties of textile and leather materials, which were available on the market. Hygienic properties like water vapour permeability and water vapour absorption gave information about the possibility to apply these materials from a microclimate point of view.

Simulation Tests of the Feeding System Dynamics on a Warp Knitting Machine with Four Needle Bars
The article describes simulation tests of the basic element forming a spacer knitted structure in a newly-designed warp knitting machine with 4 guide needle bars. It refers to a concept of forming 3D knitted fabrics alre...
Estimation of Fibre Orientation in Paper Products by an Image Analysis On-line System
A paper web produced under industrial conditions always exhibits an anisotropy in its mechanical properties measured in the machine and cross directions. Proper and fast information about current paper anisotropy would...
Low Velocity Impact Behaviour of Aramid and UHMWPE Composites
The most popular method to produce composites for ballistic applications is to use aramid and ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fibers as reinforcement materials in different matrices. The composite mater...
Examining the Relation Between the Number and Location of Tuck Stitches and Bursting Strength in Circular Knitted Fabrics
Single jersey fabrics are the most common type among knitted fabrics. Their patterns are designed by loops, tuck and float stitches and their combinations. The tuck stitch has important influences on fabric properties...
