Prospects of Implementing E-Learning Systems based on Learning Objects and XML in Nigeria’s Educational Sector
Journal Title: American journal of Engineering Research - Year 2016, Vol 5, Issue 3
Abstract
This paper started with highlighting the forms of e-learning and pointing out the key difference between Synchronous and Asynchronous e-learning. It described the popular e-learning systems that gained ground and recognition in Higher Institutions in countries like Nigeria, and went on to point out the need for resident application developers and computer interaction designers to study the existing conventional elearning systems out there with the aim of finding possible ways to extend/improve the interactivity, accessibility and compatibility of suchdisparate systems through the use of XML(Extensible Markup Language) and learning objects such as Avatars and Embodied Conversational Agents (ECAs).

Techno Economic Analysis of Directly Coupled Photovoltaic Water Pumping System Under Real Climatic Condition
Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) powered water pumping system is a cost-effective alternative to the conventional means of water pumping system. In coming days as cost of PV panels is decreasing, the energy efficient SPV based w...
An EOQ Model with a Random Defective Supply Batch and Backorder Policy
This paper deals with an EOQ model with backorder at a constant rate and rejection of defective supply batches. The number of defective item is assumed follows a negative binomial distribution. An exact model for the sys...
An Agent-Based Modellingand Simulation of Conflict between Fulani Herdsmen and Indigenous Farmers of Barkin-Ladi L.G.A. Of Plateau State
In this paper, an agent-based model (ABM) is proposed using Netlogo to analyse the spatially explicit interaction between Fulani herders and the indigenous farmers of Barkin-LadiL.G.A. of Plateau State, Nigeria. The simu...
Design of Three Stages Continuous Anaerobic Digestion (AD) Plant
The AD system is extensively acceptable as an efficient process for treatment and utilization of organic waste because it has proven to be promising method for waste recycling and energy generation. However, the major pr...
Geotechnical Properties of Lateritic Overburden Materials on the Charnockite and Gneiss Complexes in Ipele-Owo Area, Southwestern Nigeria
The lateritic soils that overburden Charnockite and Gneiss Complexes in Ipele-Owo area of Ondo State, Nigeria are in great use for local construction. However, little is known of their engineering properties and suitabil...
