Prospects of Using Alternative Sources of Energy in the World Energetics

Abstract
The article is aimed to examine the dynamics and prospects of using alternative energy sources in the world. The main reasons for introducing renewable sources of energy in the world have been displayed and analyzed. The countries-leaders in the alternative energy market have been identified and the volumes of investments into this sector have been compared. SWOT-analysis was used to determine the positive and negative sides of alternative energy that allowed to allocate centripetal and centrifugal forces in its development, compare of which confirms presence of constant tendency to increase the role and importance of renewable energy in the world economy, in both the immediate and longer term.
