Abstract
Increasingly the burden of the existing High-Speed Rail lines and the dynamic economic development of urban agglomerations and entire regions, necessitates the need for new connections. Creating a High-Speed Rail connection network streamlines the flow of passengers, thus becoming a competitive factor in the transport market. By creating new connections, High-Speed Rail is a big competition for road and air transport in terms of travel time, driving comfort and safety. The above analysis is based on the example of Italy.
