Przegląd systemów bezpieczeństwa na przejazdach kolejowo-drogowych

Abstract
The article presents an overview of solutions used in safety systems at level crossings in Poland and in the world. The review was conducted dividing the level crossings into the so-called active and passive, according to the safety systems used at them, treating separately crossings intended for pedestrians only. Safety systems have been treated as one of the ways to deal with risk. As a result, on overview of models used for determining the selection of elements of safety systems and shaping their structures has been presented. On this basis, we have proposed ideas for improvement of safety systems used at level crossings in Poland.
