Abstract
Przewlekłe zapalenie trzustki jest chorobą, która może wymagać interwencji chirurgicznej, w tym również niekiedy konieczności wykonania całkowitej pankreatektomii. Pacjenci po takim zabiegu muszą mieć wdrożoną insulinoterapię ze względu na zdiagnozowaną cukrzycę, która w niektórych przypadkach może być niezwykle trudna do ustabilizowania. W przypadku chwiejnej cukrzycy i częstych epizodów hiper- i hipoglikemii, jedną z uznanych metod leczenia jest transplantacja trzustki.
