Journal Title: Rehabilitacja w Praktyce - Year 2018, Vol 1, Issue 1
Abstract
Low back pain, known as LBP, is commonly present in physiotherapeutic daily practice. Methods of assessing the efficacy of the treatment of low back pain include: the assessment of pain, spine mobility and neurological symptoms, radiological evaluation, and other. Recently, this arsenal has been joined by the assessment of the quality of life. It is believed that the assessment of the quality of life introduces a humanistic element to health care. In 1983, Roland and Morris published a quality-of-life questionnaire, specific for lumbar-sacral spine pain, later named as Roland-Morris Questionnaire (RMQ). It consists of 24 questions that a respondent can only answer „yes” or „no”. In the paper, present methods of evaluating the results of the treatment of low back pain, with particular emphasis on the Roland and Morris scale, have been described. This simple questionnaire can be recommended as a useful tool for clinical trials and physiotherapeutic daily practice.
