Pseudoexfoliation on Intraocularlens Implant : A Case Report
Journal Title: IOSR Journal of Dental and Medical Sciences (IOSR-JDMS) - Year 2018, Vol 17, Issue 7
Abstract
The exfoliative material deposit is the most important diagnostic feature of the exfoliative syndrome, which is very common in phakic patients whereas it is very rare in pseudophakics, we report the case of a patient who presents on his implant deposits of pseudoexfoliation material. This material takes on a three-ring appearance with a clear center and periphery, which is the opposite of the one found in the phakics where the deposits are in the center and periphery. Each ophthalmologist should be vigilant when examining exfoliative material deposits on the implant even if it is rare it is a risk factor for secondary glaucoma and systemic vascular disease
