Journal Title: Науковий вісник Міжнародного гуманітарного університету. Серія «Філологія» - Year 2017, Vol 29, Issue 1
Abstract
The article reviews the issues of the psychology of language, which were developed during the last century. In particular, the article provides an analysis of N. Khomsky’s ideas on the study of the language as a natural object, cognitive ability, which is part of the biological stock of our species, physically represented in the human brain and accessible for study within the guidelines of the natural sciences. In this perspective, which was introduced by the early works of Chomsky, and then developed by a growing scientific community, the theoretical linguistics made a decisive contribution to the initiation and formation of the so-called cognitive revolution in the second half of the twentieth century.
