Public holidays in Ukraine 1920 – 1930’s as a form of soviet political values

Abstract
The article shows the process of establishing the Soviet system of public holidays during the 1920 – 1930’s, directing their political and ideological content. Since 1920 in Ukraine, the Bolsheviks began to spread the new Soviet holidays. Particular attention was paid on public holidays, with their help it convenient to promote formal power to ¿ x certain ideological stereotypes, build respect for public bodies, in other words – to form the Soviet identity. The main holiday was the day of the proletarian revolution, which later turned into a celebration of the Great October Socialist Revolution. In the early 1920’s state concept of the proletarian revolution was established, it is considered a continuation of the previous struggle and the beginning of the world communist revolution. Also, the Day of January 9, 1905, overthrow of the autocracy Day, Day of the Paris Commune, Day International were of¿ cially marked. During these days rallies, concerts, lectures, conversations, evening’s memory that explained the political objectives promoted the history of Bolshevism, praised the party and the Soviet power were organized. The ideological content of each public holiday and method of implementation were formed. The main objective was to promote of¿ cial Soviet state and the establishment of Bolshevik political values among the citizens of Ukraine
